about me

I’m a writer and public health data scientist currently based in Maryland. My humor writing has been published at the New Yorker, McSweeney’s, Reductress, Barrelhouse, The Hairpin, the Rumpus, and Little Old Lady. I also hold a PhD in health policy.

When I’m not writing jokes, I’m obsessively reading about infectious diseases, public health data systems, and women’s health.

I’m currently working on a nonfiction book project about the maternity ward at the Ellis Island Hospital. This book blends data science methods and archival research with narrative prose to illuminate the stories of the women who delivered babies at the hospital, just within sight of the Statue of Liberty and New York City.
